The project of the secondary extra-urban road – type C1 – RIETI-TORANO (SR 578) – excerpt Villa Grotti – Grotti, represents one of the two lots completing the itinerary from the Reatina shore and in particular, the penultimate one before the connection to the SS4 Salaria . The route of about 3 km, develops along the Salto River valley, in the stretch where it is narrower and in any case particularly urbanized, with the villages of Grotti and Villa Grotti. The following interventions were planned for the construction of the route: three junctions, four viaducts, two tunnels.
▪The junctions that allow the recomposition with the local roads and the direct connection to the urbanized areas.
▪The viaducts with sloping structures made of a mixed steel-concrete structure with structural sections characterized by bitraised solutions with reticular diaphragms.
▪ The box-shaped artificial tunnels.
In order to limit the impact of the work and make it sustainable, a project of environmental reorganization and mitigation was coordinated with naturalistic and systematic interventions on the slopes and the enclosed areas, with particular attention to water drainage. As part of the project, the acoustic study and adaptation of the lighting system was also carried out with the integration of LED lamps in order to reduce infrastructure maintenance and management costs.
