The works entail completion and construction of the “Porrettana” (S.S. 64) trunk road infrastructure in order to build the connection between via di Ferraresi, via Modena and the link road to the Ferrara – Porto Garibaldi expressway. The project requires a study of the route layout (embankments and structures) and of the alternative routes put in place before the works are started and the subsequent adjustment of the road sections; integration of road structures and upgrading of lighting and hydraulic installations. The following route layout works were provided for: construction of two overpasses, one underpass, two railway overpasses and construction of four entry slip roads. The main road section consists of a 3.75 m wide single carriageway per each direction of travel, a 1.5 m wide paved roadside and a 1.25 m wide embankment. The project also provides for the construction of service roads connecting land that has been cut off from access to public roads as a result of the construction of the new roadway. A noise impact analysis in the area adjacent to the trunk road (S.S. 64) and relative designing of mitigation works was also carried out as part of the project.
