Photovoltaic and wind energy plants
Photovoltaic power plant Municipality of Monte San Giovanni Campano
A project for the construction of a photovoltaic power plant supplying energy to the sports centre located in Mastrazze, in the municipality of Monte San Giovanni Campano. The power plant was installed on the pitched roof of the swimming pool, over a surface of 305 m2, generating a maximum electricity production of more than 30kW. The panels were installed coplanar to the roof, in order to ensure – in addition to maximum system productivity – a reduced environmental impact by following the roof’s shape. The power plant consists of 132 mono-crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules each having a capacity of 165 Wp and a size of 127×90 cm, so that the electricity (alternating current) that is produced is lower than that normally consumed in a year, as provided for by the Decree of the Ministry for Production Activities (Italian official bulletin of 05/08/2005). The installation of the PV power plant is part of a broader bioclimatic scheme on energy savings in buildings, and had an impact on the entire sports centre, creating an ecologically compatible facility.
